The Barcelona attacker overlooked his current skipper and opted for the Swedish international as his best-ever teammate.

Ghanaian forward Kevin-Prince Boateng has snubbed Lionel Messi to name Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the best player he has ever played alongside. The 32-year-old has been working together with the Argentine international for a few months after his surprise switch from Sassuolo to Camp Nou in the winter transfer window.

Following the confirmation of his loan move to Barca, old statements of Boateng endorsing Messi's arch-nemesis Cristiano Ronaldo as the greatest player-ever in history resurface albeit the player labeling his choice as one that belongs in the past.

However, the ex-AC Milan has seemingly not shy away from overlooking his current captain once more when it comes to naming the best. In a question and answer session on Barcelona's Facebook page, he was told to name the best player he's played with.

"Zlatan Ibrahimovic," Boateng retorted.

In retrospect, the pair played together at the San Siro between 2010 and 2012 where they successfully won the Serie A title and the Supercoppa Italiana in 2011, respectively. During Ibrahimović's two years together with the Ghanaian, he successfully managed to score 56 goals in 85 appearances.

Meanwhile, Boateng is yet to feature actively alongside Lionel Messi as he has so far proved to be surplus to requirement following his switch to Barcelona. Still, the Argentine has thrived for the high-soaring Catalans, scoring 39 goals in 37 appearances across all competitions.
