Real Madrid visit the Riazor to play Deportivo this weekend. Los Blancos are continuing their fight for La Liga title and Mourinho is set to overcome match-day 25’s obstacle.
Before their 3-1 triumph away to Deportivo last year, Real Madrid had not clinched victory at the Riazor for more than 18 years. This jinx was finally broken in fashion under ex-manager Manuel Pellegrini with Granero and Benzema carrying Madrid on their shoulders in the absence of the suspended Cristiano Ronaldo.

This season, Deportivo La Coruna have proven to be stubborn at the Riazor where they’ve suffered only 2 defeats – against Almeria and Barcelona. Among the big results that they’ve achieved on home soil in La Liga this term, Deportivo defeated Espanyol and Villarreal 3-0 and 1-0 respectively. They also recorded a thrilling 3-3 draw against Sevilla at the Riazor.

On Saturday, Real Madrid will play away to Deportivo La Coruna and Coach Jose Mourinho is getting ready for the action. The Portuguese manager is very much aware of his opponent’s strength at home, but he remains confident of a victory for the Spanish giants. As reported by Real Madrid’s official club website, Jose Mourinho stated:

“The Riazor will be a tough venue. Deportivo have only lost at home against Barcelona and Almeria.

“It has always been complicated for Real Madrid to win there, but the team managed to win last year after many years failing to do so.

“We are having a very good run in La Liga and we don't top the table only because of Guardiola's Barcelona.”

Barcelona will have to deal with the absence of key players Victor Valdes, Xavi and Carles Puyol against Mallorca this weekend. Real Madrid will be hoping for the result in that game to go in their favour as they will try as well to defeat Deportivo La Coruna.
