The Brazilian ace is currently out of action due to a similar injury as the one he 'officially' picked up last season.

An upcoming full interview for TV Globo is set to reveal a number of truths about Neymar, including the reason why he underperformed for Brazil during the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

An excerpt of the interview was aired today by the Brazilian TV network, in which the footballer comes clean about the real nature of the injury that prevented him from playing against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League's Round of 16 clash between Les Parisiens and Los Blancos.

The player, who is currently injured, explained the main difference between last year's injury and this year's medical problem, inadvertedly exposing the nature of the problem and how PSG had a hand in covering it up.

"My pre-World Cup injury is different than the one I picked up now. Last year there was a metatarsal fracture, but I also teared my ankle's ligament. That is why it took longer to heal, it was really painful. Healing from an ankle injury takes time," Neymar said.

PSG failed to inform the Brazilian National Team about the nature of this injury, which had been kept under wraps until now. Having French media stating that Neymar could make it back in time to play against the Spanish side was allegedly just a scheme, designed by PSG to keep their business partners at ease over the star's health.
