Ozil hints at Arsenal stay with social media post

Mesut Ozil hints at unwillingness to leave Arsenal with social media post

February 16, 2019 By Ali M.
The German World Cup winner has been linked with a move away from north London after falling out of favor with Emery.

The situation surrounding Mesut Ozil has turned into a farce that is splitting the Arsenal fan base, as the club looks to move on their highest-paid player. However, a recent post by the German ace all but confirms his unwillingness to leave the club.

The World Cup winner took to Twitter to post a tweet in which he quoted iconic Gunners legend Dennis Bergkamp. In his tweet, Ozil touched upon what it means to play for the north London side.

He wrote: “When you start supporting a football club, you don't support it because of the trophies, or a player, or history, you support it because you found yourself somewhere there; found a place where you belong.”

Unfortunately, this does not mean his future at the Emirates Stadium is certain. In fact, the former die Mannschaft ace is heavily beink linked with a move away from the English favor after falling out of favor with Emery.

The 30-year-old has not impressed the new boss and has not featured for Arsenal since their 2-1 win over Cardiff two weeks ago. The playmaker has been left out of the squad by the Spanish tactician on a number of occasssions, including the recent 1-0 loss to BATE.

The issue of Mesut's huge wages has complicated things, as that will relieve a huge proportion from the club's salary bill. Finding a club that will match the player's current terms will be difficult and thus the proposition of a loan move is being discussed.

Ozil, though, does not appear ready to leave the club. Severals Gooners have backed the midfielder and have demanded he return to the lineup. Only time will reveal what the future holds for the former Real Madrid star.
