The Colombian ace is struggling in the second and final season of his Bayern Munich loan and could thus be used as a bargaining tool.

The option of a return to Real Madrid for James Rodriguez might no longer be available, as the Spanish giant is ready to use him in a deal to land a Tottenham star. That man is none other than Christian Eriksen.

The Danish playmaker is one of two Spurs players that Los Blancos are interested in. However, Daniel Levy has demanded an astonishing figure for the midfielder, continuing his trend of tough negotiations.

However, the former Ajax man, who is expected to start in Thursday's Carabao Cup semi-final clash with Chelsea, is in the final 18 months of his contract and is reportedly ready to leave the north London outfit for the Liga heavyweight. According to AS, Real Madrid is thus preparing an intriguing offer to help lower Tottenham's asking price.

Florentino Perez is reportedly willing to offer the Colombian in a deal that would bring Eriksen to the Bernabeu. This could prove tempting for Pochettino's side, as Rodriguez would offer creativity and a goalscoring threat.

The South American is currently on loan at Bayern Munich but is enduring a rough time in his second season there. Despite an impressive debut campaign with the Bavarians, the 27-year-old has only made 12 appearances this term and has completed a full game on only one occasion under Niko Kovac.

The Colombian has also struggled with injuries this season and it remains to be seen whether die Roten will exercise their option to purchase for $48M next summer. Nonetheless, James remains a highly sought after attacker.

Arsenal is reportedly interested in the former Monaco sensation while Juventus is keen to reunite him with Cristiano Ronaldo in Turin. Napoli's Carlo Ancelotti, who was the boss at Real Madrid in Rodriguez' debut season, is also eager to work with him once more.
