Some incredible milestones were reached in Saturday's goal fest!

There was very little love for Arsenal at Anfield with Liverpool ensuring that its unbeaten record remained intact with an emphatic win in Saturday's epic Premier League clash. The Reds took their undefeated streak in this campaign to 20 via the 5-1 victory.

The 11th minute strike by Arsenal's Maitland-Niles provided Jurgen Klopp's men the platform to stage a comeback with Roberto Firmino equalizing three minutes later. The Brazilian then grabbed a brace 90 seconds after his first goal to hand Liverpool the led with an amazing solo effort before Sadio Mane put the game out of the reach of the visitors with his 32nd-minute finish.

Mohamed Salah sealed the first 45 minutes' masterclass display by burying Liverpool's fourth via a spot kick in additional time. Roberto Firmino subsequently ran away with the match ball by scoring the Red's second penalty of the game inside in the 65th minute.

While Liverpool's attacking trident only rehashed its scintillating display in the calendar year with Saturday's performance, it propelled the league leaders to become the third-best club in history after Chelsea (55 in 2005-06) and Manchester City (58 in 2017-18) to accrue the most points from the opening 20 Premier League games. Jurgen Klopp's side now has 54 points.

On an individual basis, Roberto Firmino established himself as the third Brazilian to score a hat trick in the Premier League. The first two Brazilian players to achieve the feat were Afonso Alves and Robinho and they both did so in 2008.

Firmino's treble was also the sixth to have been registered in a Premier League game featuring Arsenal and Liverpool, the most hat-tricks in a single fixture in the competition's history. The 27-year-old striker is now two goals away from tying with Robbie Fowler's record of being the top goalscorer in a Premier League encounter between Liverpool and Arsenal.

Recently labeled by some individuals as the best Premier League defender of all-time, Liverpool's Virgil Van Dijk finishes 2018 with 18 league clean sheets to his name. That is the most managed by any defender in the history of the English top-flight league.

With six goals being served up in the matchup, Liverpool vs Arsenal now stands as the highest scoring Premier League fixture in history, recording a total of 154 goals.
