Positive injury update for the Citizens!

Manchester City's Pep Guardiola will have skipper David Silva available for selection when his side takes on Leicester City on Boxing Day. The Spanish midfielder was pictured in Tuesday's training session.

David Silva has been out of action since Manchester City's 21-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League was ended at the Stamford Bridge by Chelsea earlier in December. The 32-year-old Spaniard subsequently missed the games against Hoffenheim, Everton, Leicester and Crystal Palace.

Having overcome the hamstring injury, Silva will be in contention to help Manchester City secure a second win over the Foxes after eliminating them from the Carabao Cup earlier this month. The Citizens will also aim at cutting down the four-point lead established by Liverpool in the Premier League following their shock defeat to Crystal Palace last week.

While some fans are concerned that the City cannot retain the league title, the club's head coach Pep Guardiola highlighted the fact that his side is better than it was last season.

"In little details, we are better than last season, which is normal because we have more time together," he told Sky Sports.

"Our process, our build-ups, our high pressing we can use different movements, we have more alternatives to defend into attack and we are more solid when we defend deeper."
