The Colombian defender will come to offer support to the injury-depleted Catalan defensive unit.

With Thomas Vermaelen and Samuel Umtiti repeatedly dealing with injuries, Barcelona's front office has decided to take matter into their own hands by signing a man to help out during the complicated months ahead.

Colombian defender Jeison Murillo has agreed terms to join Los Blaugranas on a loan deal, which is set to expire by the end of the 2018-19 season. Barcelona will pay Valencia $2.3M to have the player around on loan, with the possibility of making the deal permanent if the current La Liga leaders pay Los Naranjeros $28M by the end of the season.

Murillo passed the medical examination earlier today, and his first contact with Barcelona's supporters will take place on December 27 at Camp Nou Stadium.

The 26-year-old defender has played for Cádiz, Granada, Las Palmas and Inter Milan prior to his adventure with the Valencian side. He has scored 11 goals throughout his career.
