Before they can do that, they must eliminate the home club.

Can River Plate add to their Copa Libertadores success?

The U.A.E side will not want to disappoint the home fans. Another win in this competition will add to the achievements of Zoran Mamic, who has been in charge for less than two years, having won the domestic league in his first full season in charge.

For Guardiola's men, the task is to defend their title after dropping to second in the Premier League. Fortunately, De Bruyne and Aguero could both start after spending some time on the sidelines.

Gundogan opens up about how it was like without Aguero

For Leicester, much of the pre-match talk has surrounded Riyad Mahrez. This will be the Algerian's first visit to the King Power Stadium since leaving the Foxes for the Citizens. Speaking ahead of his return, Claude Puel asked everyone to respect the winger after his several attempts to force an exit.

Will Mahrez be booed at the King Power Stadium today?

Today's biggest headlines

Mourinho is out!

Man United announced it on Tuesday morning. Jose Mourinho will no longer be in charge of the club, bringing an early end to what was a horrendous season at Old Trafford. A look at his win percentage at the Red Devils compared to his other managerial spells gives a clear depiction of life at the Theatre of Dreams.

Not Mourinho's best managerial spell

That deleted Pogba tweet

Given Pogba's rocky relationship with Mourinho and constant bust-ups with the manager, many understandably guessed the Frenchman reacted to his departure with utter joy. Then there was a tweet by the World Cup winner with a picture of him smiling that awkwardly went up minutes after the announcement.

What to look forward to on Wednesday, December 19, 2018?

Kashima Antlers will take on Real Madrid on Wednesday while Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig will lock horns in an exciting mid-week Bundesliga tie. Then there is the North London Derby, with Arsenal and Tottenham locking horns once more, this time in the League Cup.
