The French winger has lift the lid on what has caused his change in fortune.

Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial highlighted that he owes his improved form to the frequent playing time he has been getting lately. In a season in which the Red Devils are still struggling to find their feet, the 22-year-old winger is slowly living up to his potential.

Standing as arguably the best player for Jose Mourinho side this season, Martial has racked up a decent tally of seven goals in 12 appearances across all competitions. Comparatively, the ex-AS Monaco starlet managed just 11 goals in 45 appearances in the whole of 2017/2018 season.

After starting last season on a positive note, the attacker lost his position in the starting XI following the arrival of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal in January 2018. Speculations that followed throughout the period suggested that the 2015 Golden Boy may consider exiting Manchester United as a result of his demotion.

Speaking to Sky Sports on the subject of his improved form that has more often than not salvaged vital points for Jose Mourinho's team, Martial stressed that playing more games is the key to maintaining a consistent form.

"The key to it is playing games.

"For me, when you play in a game, that's when you get back your enjoyment and you start to pick up your form once again.

"If you don't feature regularly and you only take part in training sessions, you might still be in decent form, but it's not the same as when you are playing in matches.

"I hope that I can continue to put together a good run of games and perform well in them."

Anthony Martial's current contract expires at the end of the season and recent reports indicate that Manchester United is preparing an extension offer amid apparent interest from Chelsea and Arsenal.
