Coach Javier Aguirre caused quite a stir after sharing his views on what the striker should do in the upcoming years.

Mohamed Salah may have pledged his loyalty to Liverpool, but his National Team's coach seems to have a different take on how he should handle his career.

Egypt's recently-appointed boss Javier Aguirre spoke about Salah's performances at Liverpool, praising the player for his contribution to the Reds' offense. However, the former Mexico boss urged Salah to keep growing as a footballer, even if that means he should bid farewell to the Merseyside club.

"It may be better for him to leave within a season or two if he doesn't start winning titles with Liverpool," Aguirre told ESPN FC.

Aguirre's comments caused a massive backlash from Liverpool fans, who blasted the former Atlético boss for his remarks. Others thought about those players that reached a certain level of recognition with the club, but left even before they could win a single trophy at Anfield, such as Luis Suárez, Philippe Coutinho, Javier Mascherano and more.

Salah seems to be focused on winning more titles and achieving records with the Reds, but only time will tell if he chooses to follow Steven Gerrard's path or the one that the aforementioned players did.
