Eden Dzeko led AS Roma's demolition exercise on Tuesday night as the Stadio Olimpico outfit run away with a 5-0 win over Viktoria Plzen.

The striker, who grabbed two goals against the same opponents during his time at Manchester City, hit the ground running by grabbing his first goal of the night in just three minutes. The 32-year-old expertly beat an offside trap to finish off with an angled strike.

His second goal arrived five minutes to the end of the first half where he controlled a cross with his chest and blasted home a volley. Following successive goals by the young pair Cengiz Under and Justin Kluivert in the second-half, Dzeko hit the final nail into the coffin of the visitors by heading a corner into the net.

The Bosnian marksman's feat ensured parity in point for both AS Roma and Real Madrid following the latter's shock defeat to CSKA Moscow. Russian currently top Group G with four points with the aforementioned pair tied at three apiece.

For Eden Dzeko, the night's exploit remarkably made him the first-ever AS Roma player to score a hat-trick in the history of the UEFA Champions League. The forward subsequently became the first from Bosnia and Herzegovina to achieve the same feat in the tournament. He joined Lionel Messi and Paulo Dybala as the only three players to have scored a hat-trick after two matchdays in the European competition.

Since joining AS Roma from Manchester City in 2015, Eden Dzeko has been the go-to guy for goals in Di Francesco's set-up. The 33-year-old striker has accumulated 77 goals in 147 appearances for the Giallorossi.
