The Italian manager believes the Belgian is not far from reaching but must get one thing right.

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri believes that although Eden Hazard has the capabilities to become the world best, he must increase his intensity in training in order to reach his full potential. The 27-year-old forward came off the bench to star in Chelsea’s Carabao Cup clash with Liverpool in midweek, capping off his appearance with a stunning strike to secure the win for the Blues at Anfield. The goal has since been a dominant subject of discussion among football fans across social media simply for the manner in which it was scored. With Sarri’s men set to host Jurgen Klopp and his men in the weekend’s Premier League action, Eden Hazard is expected to be handed a major role once again.

Having been named in the 2018 FIFA FIFPro XI at the recently held FIFA Football Awards, the Belgian skipper is currently soaring high in confidence. However, Maurizio Sarri believes he could mature beyond his current state if only he gives more than he currently is during training sessions.

“I think that he is for sure one of the best (players in the world), but I am absolutely convinced that he can improve,” said Sarri in his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday's clash with Liverpool.

“If he’s able to improve during training maybe he will be able to use and serve at 100 per cent.

“Because I think that we have seen only 75, 80 per cent of his potential.

“So I think that if he’s able to improve he will be the best in the world.”

On the subject of Eden Hazard possibly being named the world's best in the near future, Sarri stated: “I think so, I think so. “It’s very difficult to compare him with other players. He’s a genius. He’s unique.

“He’s a genius, technically I think he’s the best. And so I want him to be the best in the world.

“More continuity from the physical point of view, from the mental point of view.

“Because he has the opportunity to improve more, and he can become the best player in the world.

“It’s a very interesting challenge I think.

“He has a lot to give, to the team, to the staff. And I want everything," Sarri concluded.
