Harry Kane gets slammed for open-goal miss against Inter Milan

September 18, 2018 By Emmanuel K. Budu-Annor
The Spurs forward got it wrong once again.

Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane came under harsh criticism once again after failing to give his side the lead in the opening 45 minutes of their first UEFA Champions League group stage clash with Inter Milan. Despite winning the Golden Boot at this summer's World Cup held in Russia and subsequently topping that by breaking his goalscoring jinx in August, the England striker's form has come under question in recent weeks.

Prior to the kick-off of Tuesday's European, the 25-year-old was without a goal in four games for both club and country. Against Inter Milan, Harry Kane had the chance to make amends quickly but failed to utilize the opportunity.

With the game approaching the half-time mark, the Spurs marksman got on the end of a pass from Christian Eriksen, expertly rounded goalkeeper Handanovic from a tight angle but could not hold onto the ball and saw it run out of play.

It is safe to say the incident has not gone down well among fans who witnessed the chance go wasted as they required the player to do better. See below for some of the reactions:
