Los Blancos will see their former striker returning after only one season as Lyon's top scorer.

Real Madrid have finally landed the striker they wanted, as Mariano Díaz will return to the Bernabeu after a one-year stay at Olympique Lyon.

Díaz, as reported previously, was part of the team that won the 2016-17 UEFA Champions League and La Liga titles with Los Blancos, but decided to join Lyon to enjoy more playing time. There, Mariano scored 21 goals in all comps, making himself the biggest goalscoring threat for the French side.

The player born in Catalunya has agreed to sign with the Spanish giants for the next five years, with Los Blancos being force to pay Lyon over $25M.

The team revealed the signing in a short press release, adding that the footballer will be unveiled on Friday at the Bernabeu. Furthermore, the striker will attend the media right after he signs the deal, according to the team's website.
