ESPN+ secures rights for A-League, Eredivisie, and Chinese Super League

August 13, 2018 By Emmanuel K. Budu-Annor
ESPN+ has acquired rights to the top leagues in Australia, the Netherlands, and China.

America's premium multi-sport streaming service, ESPN+, has attained the rights to air matches from the top-flight leagues in Australia, Netherlands, and China, an official statement confirms. The deal comes a week after the streaming rights to the Italian Serie A was secured.

The Dutch Eredivisie, in particular, will return to the screens of fans in the United States after being unavailable for the past two years. In the course of the season, over 300 matches are expected to be streamed live in the three leagues combined.

102 regular season games from the Eredivisie capped at three per week will be live on ESPN+ between August 2018 and May 2019. The streaming service will provide coverage for 140 A-League matches from October through to April next year while 17 W-League (Women’s League) games will be streamed from October to February 2019.

One match in each round of Australia’s domestic cup will also be featured live on the platform in addition to 60 Chinese Super League matches which will be available from March to November.
