Los Blancos will face AC Milan for the fourth time in this competition since 1979 to try and even the 'score'. Follow this game with our detailed guide.

The annual game to give away the Santiago Bernabéu Trophy is upon us. Since 1979, Real Madrid has welcomed a team to their stadium to hold the friendly match in front of their home crowd, and a familiar foe will be the one that tries to end Los Blancos' unbeaten streak in this tournament: AC Milan.

Los Blancos haven't lost this friendly game in over 14 years. Real Madrid's "Galacticos" were the last team to lose such a game, when Mexican team Pumas UNAM defeated them with a 1-0 score. Since then, Real Madrid has gone on to win all 13 matches, with the exception of the 2014 edition, which was not played.

The visitors have been one of the most active teams in Europe during the ongoing transfer window, and will have all of their top guns available, including Patrick Cutrone and Gonzalo Higuaín. Gattuso's men defeated Barcelona recently, and they will try to win one more friendly against a Spanish giant to boost their confidence ahead of a tough Serie A season.

The hosts will also have some of their summer signings available, as Alvaro Odriozola and Vinicius myay have their first contact with the Bernabeu as Real Madrid footballers. Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois may be handed the chance to play for a few minutes, but he is not expected to start. Either way, fans will be eager to watch Julen Lopetegui's side for the first time, following the departures of Cristiano Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane.

Did you know...? The Italian side is the second European team with the most Santiago Bernabeu Trophy wins in history, with two wins in three games. Only Bayern (three victories) has defeated the Spanish giants more frequently than the red-and-black side.
