The president of Los Blancos has admitted that he will let Luka Modric leave but for one reason.

Luka Modric's purported move to Inter Milan may be all but over after the president of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez, revealed how much it will cost the Italians to sign him. The 32-year-old Croatian – who was adjudged the overall best player at the 2018 FIFA World Cup – reportedly held talks with the Nerazzuri with a potential exit on the cards.

However Spanish news outlet Marcahas categorically stated that Real Madrid is not interested in parting ways with the player who has been pivotal to the success enjoyed by the club since joining from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012.

With Cristiano Ronaldo unexpectedly leaving for Juventus, the Santiago Bernabeu outfit has slammed the door on the potential exit of any of its remaining stars. As a result, the only condition on which Florentino Perez will approve of Luka Modric's departure is if an interested club agrees to pay his staggering 750 million-euro release fee.

"The only possibility that Modric leaves is by paying 750 million euros," Florentino Perez was quoted to have said as per Marca.

Although rumors of a meeting between Modric's entourage and Perez has emerged, Marca's report claims that the meeting was only to discuss the player's commitment to the Spanish capital club. The Croatian midfielder is expected to join the rest of his club teammates from vacation next week ahead of their UEFA Super Cup clash with Atletico Madrid.
