August 6, 2018 By Michelle Bonsu
The 2018/2019 Ligue 1 season is set to kick off soon, and LiveSoccerTV is on hand to provide all the info you need to follow your favorite French side throughout the season.

The 2017/2018 Ligue 1 campaign was an entertaining one from start to finish for French football fans, and certainly the upcoming 2018/2019 season will not be any exception. There have been some notable signings, with one of the biggest ones not even costing PSG a single euro, and all eyes will be on former Juventus shot-stopper Gianluigi Buffon as he plies his trade for the first time outside his native Italy.

Here is all the info you need to familiarize yourself with the latest edition of Ligue 1, including where to watch your favorite team and who will be the 20 sides all competing for a chance to be crowned champions of France.

French football's top tier will start with a clash featuring Marseille and Toulouse on Friday, August 10th, before the other nine round 1 games are all played on Saturday, August 11th and Sunday, August 12th. Who are the current champions?

PSG, or Paris Saint-Germain, are the current champions of Ligue 1. With stars like Neymar, Edinson Cavani, and Kylian Mbappe in the squad, Les Parisiens managed to wrest the title away from Monaco last season and win the championship by a comfortable margine of 13 points.

With 108 goals scored and just 29 conceded, PSG boasted not just the strongest attack, but also the stingiest defense. Cavani, with 28 goals, also won the top goalscorer prize, while Neymar's 13 assists were joint-top alongside Marseille's Dimitri Payet.

However despite this domestic success, PSG failed to make inroads in the Champions League, leading to Unai Emery's resignation. Ex-Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel will now be tasked with trying to help the ambitious capital club achieve its objectives in Europe this season.
