After a narrow 1-0 win over Australian outfit Perth Glory, Chelsea will begin its International Champions Cup tour with a match against Serie A's Inter in Nice on Saturday. Kick-off is expected at 20:05 local time (14:05 EST) at the Allianz Riviera, and this will also be the first ICC match for the Nerazzurri.
The Blues are currently under the tutelage of ex-Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri, who will be certainly quite familiar with Inter and its coach, Luciano Spalletti, from his time in Italian football's top flight. Unlike the London powerhouse, who has started off pre-season on the right foot, Inter is still seeking its first win of this summer. So far, the Nerazzurri have managed two draws: a 3-3 result against Russian outfit Zenit and a disappointing one-all stalemate with Championship side Sheffield United.
New signing Jorginho, who played under Sarri for a couple of seasons at Napoli will also be very comfortable with taking on Inter and its players. The Brazilian-born Italian international was especially impressive in his debut against Perth Glory earlier this month and will certainly be hoping to earn more minutes on the pitch as he looks to slot in seamlessly with his new teammates.
Inter, meanwhile, will be missing Croatian duo Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic, who are still on holiday after the World Cup. The Nerazzurri notably secured the signing of Radja Nainggolan from Roma, and he could play a part in this game after surprisingly failing to earn a call-up from Belgium.
As for Chelsea, Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois are naturally still out after featuring in the third-place game with Belgium at this summer's World Cup. N'Golo Kante, who was part of France's World Cup winning squad also is still on break, along with Brazil's Willian and skipper Gary Cahill.
