The first of three International Champions Cup games taking place in Singapore is set to take place on Thursday. Follow this clash with our guide.

One of the most interesting matches in the International Champions Cup is set to take place in Singapore, as Atlético Madrid and Arsenal face each other for the first time in this competition.

Los Colchoneros and the Gunners met a couple of months ago en route to the UEFA Europa League final. That tie saw the Spaniards emerging victorious. Weeks later, Diego Simeone's men lifted the continental title by beating Olympique Marseille.

The Gunners enter this tournament under new management, as Arsene Wenger ended his 22-year stint at the helm back in May. Spanish coach Unai Emery takes over, trying to bring his brand of attacking football to England, where he will try to repeat the same success he had with PSG and Sevilla, two teams that enjoyed an interesting trophy haul with the Spaniard at the helm.

Both sides will give some of their young players a chance to earn a spot in the team's regular roster, as some of the biggest names are still on holidays after the FIFA World Cup. Namely, World champions Antoine Griezmann, Thomas Lemar and Lucas Hernández are set to join the team later in the pre-season.

On the other side of the pitch, coach Unai Emery will have most of his top guns at his disposal. New signings Bernd Leno and Sokratis Papasthatopoulos will be available, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan will live his first pre-season with the North London club after completing a move to the Emirates in January.
