Where to watch Serbia vs Brazil

Serbia vs Brazil kick-off, team news, permutations at the World Cup

June 26, 2018 By Ali M.
Here is a comprehensive compilation of TV schedules and listings for Brazil's crucial World Cup clash with Serbia.

While Brazil, on paper, is the favorite to win this clash, nothing should be taken for granted in the match against Serbia. The Selecao is one of the favorites to lift the title, but a group-stage exit remains a possibility for Tite’s men.

Currently, the Selecao boast four points from their first two games after drawing with Switzerland and then beating Costa Rica. Regardless, Neymar and Co. have not blown away their opposition as expected.

The five-time champion found it difficult getting past Keylor Navas in their 2-0 victory over Los Ticos. However, Wednesday brings a new game that Brazil must not lose.

Serbia, on the other hand, knows they must overcome the South American giant if they wish to remain in the competition. The reason for this is their 2-1 loss to Switzerland in the earlier round.

The Orlovi threw away a one-goal lead to lose 2-1 thanks to second-half goals from Granit Xhaka and Xherdan Shaqiri. As a result, Matic and Co. sit in the third spot with three points, one behind both Switzerland and Brazil.

Qualification is not over for Serbia. Although it won’t be an easy prospect, the European outfit needs to beat Brazil to keep their campaign in Russia alive.

As for Brazil, they would suffer an embarrassing exit if they lose on Wednesday and Switzerland earns a point. For this reason, expect Tite to name his strongest lineup in order to push for victory.

Team news

Serbia should name an identical lineup to the one that lost in the previous round. As for Brazil, their manager has a few things to ponder.

Number one is whether Danilo should come in for Fagner in the right-back role. Elsewhere, Roberto Firmino might be knocking on the door for a start after Gabriel Jesus failed to find the back of the net once again.

Match stats

  • These two sides have met only once before.
  • That one encounter came shortly before the 2014 World Cup kicked off. Brazil won that tie 1-0 thanks to a goal from Fred.
  • Serbia has lost three of their last six games (W3).
  • The Selecao has only failed to win once in as many games (D1).
  • Tite’s men have not lost a single game in their last 13 matches (W9, D4).
