Messi dropped out of the top three while Cristiano was, once again, nowhere near the top 10.

CIES Football Observatory has released their latest study on the world’s most valuable player, with Neymar being dethroned from the top. The Brazilian superstar had held on to the number one spot even after his record-breaking PSG move, but that reign has now come to an end.

The title of the world’s most valuable player now goes to Harry Kane of Tottenham. The Englishman’s stock has risen after another impressive season in north London and is now estimated to be worth at $235m.

That figure was enough to see the Three Lions captain leapfrog the Selecao ace, who is now valued at $228.7m. Both players are reportedly on Real Madrid’s radar, but they will not come cheap as shown by CIES.

In third is another PSG star: Kylian Mbappe. The youngster sealed a mega-money switch to Paris last season and has now kicked Lionel Messi out of the top three thanks to his $218m valuation.

Barcelona’s five-time Ballon d’Or winner comes in at fourth, worth $215.3m. After Leo comes the player likened to him, Mohamed Salah, who completes the top five with his $200m tag after his excellent debut season at Liverpool.

Cristiano Ronaldo, mainly due to his age, did not make the top 10. He comes in at 24th with a $120.8m valuation, making him the oldest footballer listed. Gianluigi Donnarumma, worth $79m, is the youngest player listed after coming in at 73rd.

In this list, which names only 100 players, France is the most represented with 16 names. This comes as little surprise as Les Blues is expected to shine in the upcoming World Cup. Check out the top 10 below.
