The Italian striker returned to the Nazionale this week, and he could also join his third English team this summer

Mario Balotelli enjoyed a bittersweet experience as a Premier League player, and now, he has been named as a target for one of the league's best teams.

Following his return to form in France, which earned him a new call up to the Italian National Team under Roberto Mancini, the controversial striker may be headed back to the EPL, as the Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the former Manchester City and Liverpool footballer could join Arsenal this summer.

The player was also linked to other clubs such as Borussia Dortmund and Marseille, according to the newspaper's cover.

The controversial striker seemed to have a re-birth in France, as he became influential to Nice's performance for the past two seasons. He scored 43 goals in 66 games for the red and black side, including 18 Ligue 1 goals this year, good enough for the 5th spot in the French top flight's goalscoring list.

The player's deal with the French side ends on June 30, 2018, which means he would arrive to Arsenal on a free transfer.

Years ago, Balotelli admitted that playing for Arsenal was something he would be keen on, as he had always "liked" The Gunners. Will the London-based club make a bid to sign him? Only time will tell.
