Match facts
- Liverpool has won their last two games at Stamford Bridge. The last team to win three in a row at that stadium in the Premier League was Blackburn Rovers in 1993-94 and 1995-96.
- Conte’s side has not won any of their last six top-flight encounters with the Reds (D3, L3).
- In their head-to-head record, both sides have won 19 ties.
Preview
Liverpool heads into this crucial Premier League clash after booking their spot in the Champions League final. The Premier League outfit overcame Roma on Wednesday to set up a date with Real Madrid in Kyiv.
However, Klopp’s side has two games before that final and it starts this Sunday with the trip to the Bridge. A victory would guarantee a top-four finish for the Merseyside giant but Chelsea, on the other hand, needs a win to keep their Champions League hopes alive.
Fortunately, the home side has received a boost by the return of Marcos Alonso. The Spaniard served his three-match ban but will be back in contention, alongside Danny Drinkwater.
The Merseyside giant will be without Joel Matip, Emre Can, Adam Lallana and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain due to injuries. Mohamed Salah, though, is ready to make his return to Stamford Bridge after his successful campaign with the Reds.
