Arsenal managed to put their Premier League problems aside when they travelled to Milan on Thursday to nearly thump the Italian side out of the UEFA Europa League. Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aaron Ramsey sealed the deal for Wenger's men in the first 45 minutes, while erasing a couple of unbeaten streaks for the rossoneri in the process.
Since Gennaro Gattuso's arrival, AC Milan saw their skills improve. The red-and-black side had spent the last three months without a loss, but their luck changed against Wenger's crew.

What stands out the most about Arsenal's win is the fact that the rossoneri carried a 16-year streak without a loss in the UEFA Europa League while playing at home. They were unbeaten for ten games until today.
Arsenal are the first side to beat AC Milan at the San Siro in the Europa League/UEFA Cup since February 2002, when they lost to Roda JC.

The second leg of this tie is scheduled for next week, and surely Gattuso's men will try to save a bit of their pride at Emirates Stadium.
