Time is up for Manchester City flops Adebayor, Santa Cruz and Shaun Wright-Phillips. Coach Roberto Mancini is almost done getting rid of these 3 players during this transfer period.
It is understood that these 3 players are close to quitting Manchester City for another club – each of them going their own way. Transfer news from English magazine The Sun suggests that Roque Santa Cruz is set to go back on loan to Blackburn Rovers as early as during the course of this week.

Another Manchester City flop, Shaun Wright-Phillips, is also expected to leave Eastlands where money pours down like rain from the skies. It’s been reported that Birmingham City, Liverpool and Fulham are all interested in the talented winger.

Emmanuel Adebayor, however, has been linked with a loan move to Real Madrid. These speculations are yet to turn into confirmed reports, though.

But with Los Blancos having only one striker in the name of the inconsistent Karim Benzema following Higuain’s injury, anything may still happen. Speaking to The Sun, Manchester City coach Roberto Mancini discussed about transfer news surrounding Santa Cruz, Adebayor and Wright-Phillips. He explained:

“Roque will probably got to Blackburn. Every player wants to play and I understand that. But, it’s difficult for me.

“I hope for Roque that in 1 or 2 days, he will have that [opportunity to play football regularly].

“The situation is the same for Roque and Shaun Wright-Phillips. He has 2 or 3 options [in Liverpool, Fulham and Birmingham City].

“A lot of teams want Emmanuel [Adebayor] but at the moment, we have to wait for Mario Balotelli who is injured. Maybe Manu will leave... But, we have another 20 days, so we have time to make a decision.

“If we lose 3 or 4 [players at Manchester City], we might end up in a situation where we won’t have enough players for the rest of the season.”

Roque Santa Cruz, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Emmanuel Adebayor were bought for £17M, £9M and £25M respectively. None of them have managed to affirm their authority at Manchester City since their arrival.

Adebayor enjoyed a good start to his career at Eastlands. However, his traumatized state following the Togo team bus attack back in January 2010 as well as his tumultuous relationship with key player Kolo Toure could mean that his time at Manchester City is indeed nearing to an end.

Meanwhile, the season continues for the Sky Blues. They are only 2nd with 2 points behind leaders Manchester United in the English Premier League table. However, they've played 2 games more than their local rivals, so Saturday's Manchester City vs Wolverhampton Wanderers match will prove to be vital.
