This is not good news for the Blues in their fight to keep the Belgian out of Real Madrid's hands.

Chelsea has received a huge blow in their fight to keep hold of Eden Hazard, as the Belgian ace has refused an extension from the Premier League outfit. This will definitely have the club and fans worried about their star man who has been linked with an exit in the past.

The player’s father dropped this bombshell while talking to Le Soir. According to Thierry Henry, his son rejected a new deal put on the table by the Blues. Unsurprisingly, links have already been drawn between the winger and Real Madrid.

Hazard has long been linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu. The Belgian is a known admirer of Zinedine Zidane, with the Blancos boss singing Hazard’s praises.

The player’s father confessed that the 26-year-old’s reason for rejecting the Chelsea extension is his desire of one day playing for Real Madrid. The player is awaiting a move from the Champions League holder.

“What I can reveal about Eden is that he refused a contract extension," Thierry Hazard told Le Soir, as per Sky Sports.

"This was so that, if necessary, he could follow the interest of Real, whom he could see himself playing for.

"But, as of right now, there is no contact from Real Madrid. Eden is only one of the parties involved in his future."

Matt Law of the Telegraph added details to this topic by claiming Chelsea hasn’t handed a concrete offer to their star player. That offer will come in New Year, according to the journalist, as Conte’s side works hard to hold onto the former Lille ace.

Hazard is expected in action on Saturday in the Premier League. Chelsea hosts Stoke City at Stamford Bridge, with the London club searching for a win to pile pressure on second-placed Man United.
