Analysis

The last time these two sides met, it ended in a goalless draw in the Premier League -  a disappointing result for Arsenal.  However, the Gunners will have the home advantage this time around and will head into this game after relieving 1-0 win over Newcastle.

Wenger’s side has lost at home to the Hammers before, with their most recent home defeat coming on the opening day of the 2015/16 season. However, that was one of only three wins at Arsenal for West Ham. Their overall head-to-head record even favors the Gunners, with the north London outfit winning 16 of their 25 meetings in all competitions.

Analysis

Can anyone in England stop Man City this season? This is the question that will be asked of Leicester City, the Citizens’ next opponent. Guardiola’s side is on a 16-game winning run in the Premier League and thus enjoys an 11-point lead at the top – not to mention they won 2-0 in their previous trip to King Power Stadium earlier this season.

Leicester, three-time English LeagueCup champions, faces Man United in the league immediately after their quarter-final clash with the City but do not have the liberty to rest their key players. This clash is a repeat of the 2013-14 League Cup season in which City eliminated the Foxes,

However, it has been a year and a week since Leicester beat Guardiola’s side 4-1 at the King Power Stadium.

Analysis

Chelsea is all but out of the Premier League race due to Man City’s enormous lead and looks unlikely to get past the Champions League round of 16 after drawing Barcelona. As a result, the League Cup – alongside the FA Cup – could be the Blues only shot at silverware.

Conte’s side takes on Everton over the weekend and thus the Italian has promised to rotate his squad to an extent. Marcos Alonso is suspended, while the likes of Davide Zappacosta and Michy Batshuayi are expected to start as Chelsea go in search of their ninth win over the Cherries (P10, W8, L2).

Broadcast info – Bristol City vs Man United

Analysis

Man United is the only team not facing a fellow Premier League side in the last eight, as Mourinho’s side will lock horns with Championship side Bristol City. Both sides have lost only once in their last six games, with the host currently on a four-game winning streak.

United has shown sign of struggles when on the road, losing to Huddersfield, Chelsea, and Basel. Bristol City boasts an impressive home run, but it’s hard to see the Red Devils losing to a Championship side given the Special One’s history in this competition – he has won it twice before.
