Transfer news from England claim that Arsenal are looking to let striker Carlos Vela move to another club on a loan deal during the January transfer window. This has raised the attention of Bolton’s Owen Coyle.
Despite his remarkable talent, Carlos Vela has never managed to become a regular first-team player for Arsenal. The Mexican international has featured 62 times for the Gunners. Amazingly, though, he has been named into Arsene Wenger’s starting XI only 19 times.

These statistics have pushed Arsenal to consider making a transfer for Carlos Vela on a loan deal and Bolton coach Owen Coyle has been attracted by this information coming from the camp of the London club. Coyle, who signed Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere on loan last season, hinted at a similar move for Carlos Vela. Speaking to reporters, the manager said:

“Carlos Vela is an outstanding player. I think Arsene Wenger said at the weekend that he could go on loan. Now people have looked and put two and two together.

“We’ve got a good relationship with Arsenal. Obviously, with Jack Wilshere last year [it showed] and hopefully, we played a small part in his development.

“There’s no doubt that Carlos Vela is a wonderful player.”

Owen Cole may have his suspected wish of signing Carlos Vela on a loan deal granted since Arsene Wenger would prefer to have the Mexican acquiring some Premier League experience, according to reports. Can Bolton stand competition from Serie A’s Chievo Verona and La Liga’s Valencia who are also targeting the young striker?

In the meantime, however, Carlos Vela may once again be left out from the Arsenal squad which will face Manchester City in midweek. A switch to Bolton may indeed give the forward more playing options.
