Manchester United’s squad is complete enough to end the season successfully, Ferguson believes. The Red Devils are not thinking of being active during the January transfer window.
Reports claim that Man United have shown interest in players such as Fiorentina’s Alberto Gilardino and Sunderland’s Jordan Henderson. However, Ferguson is certain that such news headlines are nothing more than rumours. The Old Scot was asked about Manchester United’s plans to buy any player in January, to which he responded:

“No, not at all. Definitely not.”

The 1999 treble winner seems to have much faith in his squad. Now instead of bringing in fresh faces, Alex Ferguson is rather looking to develop his young stars through loan moves. Frederico Macheda, for example, has been tipped to experience other challenges with a switch to Italy’s Serie A; and this piece of info is not a rumour but a concrete report as Manchester United’s Fergie talked about the matter.

“I had a chat with the boy. I think he’s in the same position as [Danny] Welbeck and Mame Diouf [who are on loan],” the coach told ESPN Soccernet.

“They are young and the need games, and Kiko [Macheda] falls into that category now. It can pan out exactly the same for him.

“It would be the same thing: going to a club, getting that experience for six months and coming back to us a better player.”

In some other transfer news related to Manchester United, defender John O’Shea is said to be eyed by Wolfsburg’s Steve McClaren. The Germans are struggling in the Bundesliga as they occupy the 13th position.

Now since John O’Shea’s injury worries has seen him experience only one start in two months, it is a possibility that the player will be looking elsewhere to pursue his football career. After all, the competition to win a place in Manchester United’s squad has become very difficult for O’Shea as he has been outclassed by Patrice Evra and Rafael this season.

Besides transfer news, Man UTD are eying to mark the year 2011 with a great start. Instead of allowing distraction from media talks, the Red Devils are thinking of overcoming West Bromwich Albion on Saturday to maintain the top spot in the English Premier League.
