Here's how things stand in the group ahead of the final matchday

Preview

Whilst the USMNT sit in third thanks to their resounding 4-0 win over Panama, they are not out of the woods just yet. A loss for Bruce Arena's side to an already-eliminated Trinidad could mean they miss out on a spot at the World Cup for the first time since 1986, especially if Honduras and Panama both win their respective fixtures. Even fourth could be problematic, as it means they will then have to face Australia in a two-legged playoff that could go either way.

Simply put, the Stars and Stripes have their fate in their own hands and will be facing a side who have won just one out of their last nine qualifying matches. The Soca Warriors have nothing but pride to play for, but obviously the visitors will not be resting on their laurels as Trinidad will be desperate to put on at least a good display in front of their home support. Furthermore, there are widespread reports that flooding has left the pitch in an absolutely awful state - not prime conditions for a must win tie.

In terms of head to head record, the USMNT have the superior stats, with a standing of 14-3-4 all-time record against Trinidad & Tobago. That includes wins in their last two meetings, the most recent a 2-0 result from this past June, courtesy of a brace from Dortmund's starlet Christian Pulisic.
