The Inter Milan youngster could have secured all three points for the visitors in Wednesday's frantic affair.

Football fans have singled out Inter's Kristjan Asllani for blame after denying his side the opportunity to snatch a winner against Barcelona at Camp Nou. The 20-year-old attacker made a mess of a glorious chance to assist Henrik Mkhitaryan for a crucial decider, paving the way for the hosts to snatch a point in Wednesday night's six-goal thriller.

So many sub-plots emerged in the fourth Group H game of the season for both clubs but, ultimately, the mandate of delivering entertainment to the fans was duly fulfilled. In what was a must win for Barcelona, Ousmanne Dembele set the tone for the night by hitting a brilliant opener in the 40th minute. However, Gerard Pique's mistake in the early minutes of the second half gave Nicolo Barella the chance to sneak in an equalizer for the visitors.

Lautaro Martinez subsequently put Inter ahead by finding the back of the net with assistance from Hakan Calhanoglu in the 63rd minute. It was almost certain that the Nerrazzuri were going to end the night with all the three points as they remained resolute after their second goal. That script was, however, torn apart with Robert Lewandowski - who previously had his goal-bound attempt cleared off the line - restoring parity with a legitimate goal in the 82nd minute.

Seven minutes later, Robin Gosens fired the Italian side back into the lead, getting on the scoresheet by capping off a blistering counter-attack. Again, Robert Lewandowski was called into action to redeem his side, scoring his second goal of the night in injury time to peg the game at 3-3.

In the fourth minute of stoppage time Inter had the perfect opportunity from another counter attacking move to seal the deal at Camp Nou. However, Kristjan Asllani passed on the opportunity to square a simple ball to Henrik Mkhitaryan for a tap in that would have sealed the fate of both clubs. Instead, he fired a shot directly at Marc-Andre ter Stegen who held his ground to give the Blaugrana a very slim shot at progressing to the next round.

While the draw is not likely to be enough for Barcelona to advance, fans have not taken things lightly with Asllani as defeat for Inter against Viktoria Plzen could spell trouble going into the final game with Bayern Munich.
