With the UEFA Super Cup due to be played tomorrow, on Tuesday, much of the hype surrounded Cristiano Ronaldo. With the Portuguese superstar being given an extended holiday and fighting tax evasion accusations amid exit rumors, many wondered whether the Ballon d’Or favorite would feature.
Los Blancos have answered that question a day before kick-off. The Champions League holders released their 24-man squad for their clash with Man United, naming the four-time Ballon d’Or winner in their traveling side.

This will be a huge boost for Zinedine Zidane’s crew. The Spanish champions have failed to impress during their pre-season, losing to both Manchester giants and then Barcelona in El Clasico Miami.
Cristiano has not featured for Real Madrid since guiding them to a 4-1 win over Juventus in the Champions League final. As a result, he was expected to miss out on the trip to Skopje, Macedonia, despite having already returned to training.
Several other big names are on the squad – including Modric, Bale, Benzema, Isco, the promising Asensio, and new signing Ceballos. Even social media was buzzing about Ronaldo’s inclusion.
Reactions were mixed. Many were thrilling to see the 32-year-old return; others tipped him to start on the bench. One particular man is confident that one of the best footballers in history will be kept quiet by a Man United midfielder. Check out the best tweets.
