WATCH: Mexico narrowly beats Honduras with historic goal

July 21, 2017 By Oscar Rojas
Rodolfo Pizarro scored the only goal for El Tri against Los Catrachos, who will leave the Gold Cup without scoring a single goal.

Mexico's performances in this Gold Cup may not have been as good as expected, but they have provided consistency and some moments to remember.

Against bitter-rivals Honduras, Mexico managed to reach their 11th Gold Cup semi-final spot, and also added a piece of history to their already laureated resume in the competition.

Midfielder Rodolfo Pizarro scored the game's only goal with a crucial finish, but it wasn't an ordinary goal, as he scored the fastest goal for Mexico (four minutes) since the 1993 edition.

Have a look at his finish.

Mexico will now face Jamaica in the tournament's semi-final stage, while the other spot in the final will be determined between Costa Rica and the USMNT.
