Los Blancos want the 18-year-old Monaca star, but will have to make space for the teenager to guarantee him playing time.

Real Madrid’s interest in Kylian Mpabbe is no kept secret. The Monaco teenager became the most sought after striker this summer after his sensational 2016/17 campaign which saw his club win Ligue 1 and reach the Champions League semi-final.

Only a world-record bid would be enough to convince his club to sell. This means a few interested parties – mainly Arsenal – will be priced out of a move. Real Madrid have the finances to afford the 18-year-old, and is the Frenchman’s preferred destination.

Zidane maintains contact with Mbappe, and Perez even met with the player and his father in Paris after the France-England friendly to discuss a possible move. Furthermore, Los Blancos have reportedly offered the player between six and seven million Euros per year in a six-season deal.

Zizou is even ready to let go one member of his attacking BBC trio – Bale, Benzema, Cristiano – to accommodate the teenager. Unless one of the three goes, Mbappe would struggle to get time, and the French striker is aware of this.

According to Marca, Zidane has informed Perez the player he is willing to let go – that man is Gareth Bale. The Welshman is the youngest of the trio – Cristiano is 32 and Benzema is turning 30 – but injuries have hampered the 27-year-old’s progress at the Bernabeu.

This does not mean Bale will be ushered out the door, Marca write. However, Mbappe wants minutes not money, and Real Madrid must offer this or risk losing him to PSG.
