Years ago, these players were crucial for Real Madrid. Now, Higuain and Khedira want to end Los Blancos' dominance in Europe.

They played together at Real Madrid for three seasons. The Argentinean striker spent seven seasons with Los Blancos, while the German midfielder played five years at the Spanish capital. Both of them left the Spanish capital in what some believe was disrespectful, and now, Sami Khedira and Gonzalo Higuain have their chance to "get even".

Higuain left Los Blancos one year before the Spanish giants won their 10th UEFA Champions League title, with most fans labeling him as a flop due to his unconsistent form in front of goal. Despite criticism, Higuaín seems to hold no grudges against Real Madrid, as his pre-match quotes hint.

"It will obviously be strange(to face some of his friends), but it will be nice to play that game either way. I spent half of my career there, I left a bunch of happy memories and friends there, but the only thing I care about is leaving everything on the pitch to win against them on Saturday," Higuaín stated.

Here are Higuain's stats as a Real Madrid player.

On the other hand, Sami Khedira does hold a grudge against the Spanish giants, as he had a hard time impressing the Spanish media, who always criticized him in excess during his time there.

"My coaches there always treated me fairly, but the regular fan and journalist never gave me credit for anything. If I played 10 good games it was what I had to do, but if the 11th was awful, then I wasn't good enough to be there. People here see football with under another philosophy, they care more about your overall performance," the German stated.

Khedira's contribution to the team was key to win seven titles, including the 2014 UEFA Champions League.

Both players seem to have enjoyed themselves in their first year together in Italy, and now, they have the chance to give Juventus a historical treble. Will they lead the bianconeri past their former team this Saturday?
