New York City FC registered a 2-0 win over Philadelphia Union on Friday when the two sides clashed in the seventh round of the Major League Soccer. The visitors opened the scoring in the 52nd minute through Jack Harrison.
But the moment of the game came in the 90th minute, just seconds to the final whistle, when David Villa scored what is so far the best goal of this season's MLS campaign. The Spaniard fought for the ball at the middle of the park, won it, and unleashed a 50-yard shot that descended right at the back of goalkeeper Andre Blake, as the away fans erupted into wild cheers. The Jamaican goalkeeper was well beaten, having taken a few strikes off his line, as the Pigeon's secured a crucial win.
