German newspaper Bild got a hold of Özil's upcoming biography, where he shares details of the complicated relationship he had with the Portuguese boss.

Mesut Özil's biography is about to hit the bookshelves, but fans don't have to wait to read it to learn some fiery details included in the publication.

German newspaper Bild reported earlier today Özil's problems with Jose Mourinho, who used to mock the player in order to get the best out of him.

"You think that you've done a great game by sending a couple of through balls properly. You are really delicate when you go one-on-one against a defender. It's not enough to give 50% of your talent. You're like a little kid. Go take a shower, we don't need you," Özil narrates in the book.

After being yelled at for a while, Özil fought back and angrily replied to the Portuguese manager.

"If you're so great, why don't YOU go on the pitch and play?", the German footballer answered back then.

Özil won a league title under Mourinho at Real Madrid, among other trophies.

Özil didn't join Barcelona due to Pep's lack of interest

Being one of the hottest prospects following the 2010 World Cup, Mesut Özil also reveals in his biography the reasons why he chose Real Madrid over Barcelona.

According to an excerpt from his book, Özil had already started negotiations with Los Blaugranas, but everything took an ugly turn due to Pep Guardiola's dismissive treatment towards the footballer.

"I refused to join Barcelona due to Pep's behaviour. I asked them why he wasn't involved in our negotiations, and Barça execs told me he was on vacation. He acted like he wasn't really interested in having me around. On the other hand, Mourinho fought hard to get me. He was very convincing and cared about me. He was the total opposite compared to Guardiola. That's the reason why I chose Mourinho and Real Madrid," Özil concluded.
