Bruce Arena will be Max & Herc’s First Guest

On Monday, Feb. 13, ESPN FC, the world’s leading soccer multimedia platform, will launch “The Max & Herc Podcast,” a weekly soccer discussion program focusing primarily on Major League Soccer and the U.S. Men’s National Team.

The podcast will feature SportsCenter anchor and longtime soccer journalist, commentator and host Max Bretos and former U.S. Men’s National Team player and three-time Major League Soccer champion Herculez Gomez, who retired from professional soccer in January and joined ESPN as an analyst.

U.S. Men’s National Team manager Bruce Arena will be the first guest on “The Max & Herc Podcast” on its premiere edition Monday. Video and audio versions of the podcast will post on Mondays and will be available/downloadable via www.ESPNFC.com. The 45-minute (approximate) audio conversation will live on ESPN Podcenter.

About Gomez:

  • Joined ESPN in January – same day he retired from 17-year professional soccer career
  • Played in 24 U.S. Men’s National Team matches, including all three group stage matches in the 2010 FIFA World Cup
  • Won three MLS titles: 2002 (Galaxy), 2005 (Galaxy) and 2016 (Sounders)
  • Played six seasons in Mexico’s Liga MX and in 2010 became the only U.S. player to lead a top-flight non-U.S. league in scoring
  • Won Liga MX Clausura 2012 (Santos Laguna) and Copa MX Clausura 2015 (Puebla).
