A Liverpool-Man United Wembley affair is on the horizon, but Claude Puel's Southampton side look to jeopardize a Klopp vs. Mourinho final.

The second leg of the English League Cup is upon us. The remaining semi-final fixtures will be played between Wednesday and Thursday, meaning only two days remain before the final at Wembley will be decided.

A Liverpool-Man United final is possible. However, only the Red Devils have one foot in the ultimate game, having beaten their last 4 opponent Hull City 2-0 in the first meeting.

The Reds, on the other hand, lost 1-0 to Southampton in the first fixture. Fortunately for Jurgen Klopp’s boys, the return tie will be played at Anfield. Luckily for the Saints, Swansea’s recent win away to Liverpool shows that Firmino and Co. are beatable at home.

What are the odds of a Liverpool vs Man United League Cup final?

Man United boast a 2-0 advantage heading into the KCOM Stadium trip. They will probably rest some key players for this trip, but the odds of them crashing out are unlikely.

The question is whether Liverpool can make it, having lost 1-0 to Southampton inthe first tie. The Reds aren't in the best form ahead of Wednesday's Anfield clash. Here are a few stats that can help fans decide who are the favorites to progress:

  • Since beating Man City 1-0, Liverpool have won only one game all competitions.
  • The Reds beat Plymouth, but lost to Swansea; andd Southampton. There were also draws with Man United and Sunderland.
  • Southampton are the Premier League's second lowest away scorers, behind only Burnley.

Liverpool will give their best to make the final. Coutinho's return could also help the Reds progress.
