Chelsea tie Arsenal record in six-goal thriller

Chelsea tie Arsenal’s EPL record in six-goal thriller

December 31, 2016 By Ali M.
The Blues beat Stoke City in an exciting game to continue their impressive winning streak.

Anyone who doubted Chelsea’s title credentials at the beginning of the season have been proven wrong, as the Blues marched to an impressive 4-2 win over Stoke City. Their last game of 2016, it was full of goals and excitement.

Twice the home side lead by a one goal margin; twice Stoke fought back to equalize. When the game was tied 2-2, Antonio Conte’s boys stepped up their game and wrapped up the win thanks to goals from Willian and Diego Costa.

The table-toppers also tied a Premier League record with their victory. Their 13th straight win, Chelsea drew level with the record held by Arsenal for the most number of consecutive wins in a single season.

Fans were happy to see the Italian boss match Arsene Wenger’s feat. Beating it might prove difficult, though, as Chelsea’s next game in the league is an away clash with Tottenham. Check out the tweets below.
