The Spanish center back could miss the crucial clash against Club América due to a muscular injury he's been dealing with for some time.

Real Madrid's hero during the past two games could have to watch this Thursday's semi-final clash from the stands.

Sergio Ramos hasn't been able to work out with the rest of the team, as he hasn't been able to recover from a muscular injury he picked up last week. The Spanish center back has scored in back-to-back league games for Los Blancos, keeping their unbeaten streak alive while helping them reach a new club record.

Ramos' previous performance in this competition saw him score a couple of goals, which helped him achieve the tournament's MVP Award.

Sergio Ramos urges his team-mates to stay focused

Speaking in an interview with FIFA.com, the Spaniard demanded Los Blancos' players to keep their eyes on Club América, rather than thinking about the final match of the tournament.

"You have to stay focused on the next match, because objectives can only be achieved step by step. You have to deal with obstacles as they present themselves and you always have to show respect for the rivals you come up against,"Ramos stated.

Despite what many people believe, Real Madrid's players are eager to win this tournament due to the relevance of being known as World Champions.

"It's also great for a professional player to be able to wear the Champions Badge for a year. We'd like to get it back as we had to pass it on last year. We want a happy ending to what's been a good year for us. Being in Japan is a prize for us and we want to take the final reward with us," Ramos concluded.
