From a bad day on the pitch to a bad day at home - this pretty sums up Raphael Varane's week.

The house belonging to Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane was broken into on Wednesday. According to Spanish publication AS, the incident happened as Real Madrid were taking on Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The report further adds that the burglars stole 12 luxury watches, worth 60,000 British pounds, cash included. But the incident could have been avoided had the Frenchman been extra-keen. AS claims that he forgot to turn on his alarm system, hence making it more difficult for neighbours to realize that there was a burlglary going on in his home.

Two weeks earlier around the same neigbourhood, burglars broke into Portugal legend Luis Figo's home and make away with valuables worth around half a million Euros. The ex-Real Madrid star is said to have reported the incident to a police station in Hortaleza.

Real Madrid face Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Madrid giants are still top of La Liga table with 34 points, six more than second-place Barca, and a win here would extend their lead to nine points.
