It appears that Didier Drogba could soon hang up his boots, or already has.

Ivory Coast international Didier Drogba will not return to Montreal Impact in 2017. The announcement was confirmed on MLSSoccer. 

Apparently, the Chelsea legend summoned reporters after Montreal’s 3-2 win over their bitter rivals and revealed that he would not be part of the MLS outfit next year. Although it is not yet clear where his next destination would be, insider reports claim that he is considering a coaching career. 

Montreal Impact posted a ‘Thank You’ message for the 38-year-old on their official Twitter account. Check out the tweet below that seemed to confirm his departure by highlighting some of his best moments at the club:
