Team news

Manchester United

Jose Mourinho is expected to rotate his squad but Phil Jones and Henrikh Mkhitaryan be unavailable for selection due to injury. Wayne Rooney has slim chances of starting, but Jose Mourinho has confirmed Zlatan will lead the hunt for goals.

Coach Yuriy Vernydub is expected to retain the same side that beat Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kyiv 1-0 and Vorskla 2-1 in their last two most recent fixtures in the league.

Match forecast

This clash will mark Man Utd’s seventh meeting with a Ukrainian club in European competitions. All their six previous meetings with clubs from Ukraine have come from the Champions League group stage. The last time the Red Devils faced a club from Ukraine was back in 2013 when the Red Devils won by a solitary goal from Phil Jones.

On a brighter note, the Old Trafford outfit have never lost any match to a Ukrainian side. This game will also bring fond memories for midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan if he finds his way back to the squad. The Armenian scored four goals in three games for another Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk against Zorya between 2012 and 2013.
