Draxler linked with €75m Wolfsburg exit

TRANSFER: Julian Draxler linked with €75m Wolfsburg exit

August 29, 2016 By Ali M.
But the German ace won’t be heading for the English Premier League, according to Kicker.

One thing (almost) seems certain in this transfer window: Julian Draxler will leave Wolfsburg over the summer. However, uncertainty remains over the German ace’s next destination. Kicker, however, attempts to tackle this uncertainty, claiming to have the scoop on the player’s next employers.

According to the German publication, the 22-year-old could be joining French champions PSG, but Unai Emery face a race against time to sign the Wolfsburg ace.

The transfer window deadline day is set for August 31, meaning the Ligue 1 holders have three days – including today (Monday) – to convince the player’s Bundesliga employers to sell.

However, Kicker claim that Les Parisiens have lodged a mammoth bid – reportedly worth €75m – to convince Die Wölfe to sell the midfielder.

If this rumored move goes through, it will come as a huge blow for Bayern Munich and a number of English Premier League suitors, particularly Man City and Arsenal, who were believed to be in for the former Schalke ace.

German tabloid Bild recently reported that Wolfsburg are interested in bringing Heung-Min Son of Tottenham back to the Bundesliga. Having enjoyed successful spells with Hamburg and Bayer Leverkusen, Die Wölfe have allegedly bid €30m for the South Korean attacker.

This could be interpreted in two ways: Julian Draxler could finally get his wish and leave the Volkswagen Arena, or Wolfsburg are merely looking for a replacement for Bas Dost, who left for Sporting Lisbon.

Draxler, who joined Wolfsburg last summer, is under contract until 2020.
