An explanation from the Barca midfielder was due.

There is no love lost between Real Madrid and Barca, so when Arda Turan went retweeting and liking a few Blancos posts on social media, many felt the midfielder would soon experience the wrath of the Blaugrana fans.

Yes, it’s true: the Turkish star retweeted and liked tweets made by the Champions League holders, one of which was a “la Undecima” picture from Les Merengues recent European title.

This could have proven costly for the former Atletico ace’s future at Camp Nou, given that Turan failed to impress last season after arriving from the Spanish capital.

However, the 29-year-old came out to publicly confess his innocence on social media. So how did those Real Madrid tweets get retweeted by Turan? According to the Barca man, his account was hacked a few days back.

He wrote on Twitter: “Two days ago my account was hacked for a brief period. During that period 1 RT was made and 2 photos were “liked” without my knowledge… I would like my statement regarding this issue to be taken into consideration. Best.”

His explanation could be valid and may save him face in front of the Blaugrana faithful. However, don’t expect this claim to help his path into the Catalan giants’ starting eleven.

Their midfield is very competitive. On top of that, Denis Suarez’s recent arrival could mean more time on the bench for the Turkish ace.
