Valencia forward Alvaro Negredo is on the verge of joining newly-promoted Premier League side Middlesbrough. But as exciting as the rumors may sound to many fans of the English club, one factor has caught most of them by surprise.
For a club that used to operate on a shoe-string budget in the Championship a season ago, many fans cannot understand how they will afford to pay the former Manchester City man 100,000 pounds per week to keep him at Riverside Stadium in the forthcoming season. Another question that lingers in the minds of many of the club’s fans is whether the 30-year-old is worth the amount.

During his two-year spell at the Etihad Stadium, he scored nine league goals in 32 appearances. He then scored 10 La Liga goals for Valencia in 55 appearances.
