The Gunners are ready to pull out all the stops in order to land the striker they missed out on in 2013.

Arsenal’s search for a world-class finisher has them linked with a player they nearly signed back in 2013, as speculation claims that the Gunners will reignite their interest in Gonzalo Higuain.

The Napoli ace enjoyed a wonderful 2015/16 season in Italy, scoring 36 goals in only 35 games to finish as the Serie A top scorer. However, the Argentine ace now appears destined to leave the Partenopei.

The 28-year-old’s brother and agent admitted in late June that he will not sign a contract extension with Napoli, citing a failure to win the Scudetto as a reason for the striker to seek pastures new.

However, with interest in Higuain’s services also coming from Chelsea and Liverpool, how exactly does Arsene Wenger plan on beating the competition to land the Albiceleste ace? By tabling a player-plus-cash bid, claim Di Marzio.

According to the report, Arsenal are ready to splash €50m to sign Higuain, with Wenger willing to throw French forward Olivier Giroud in the deal.

Long have the Arsenal fans been calling for an improvement on Giroud, despite the Bleues international boasting a respectable goals-to-game ratio. He recently won the Bronze Boot at the UEFA Euro 2016 but failed to impress in the final, and could thus see his time in north London end.
